County animal shelter closed Nov. 24, Dec. 22

Pinal County Animal Care & Control is canceling Saturday hours for the Saturday after Thanksgiving and the Saturday before Christmas.

The shelter normally is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

Staff will tend to the animals in the shelter throughout those weekends but sufficient staffing will not be available to open for the public.

“We operate six days a week but we know from past experience that the Saturday after Thanksgiving is more of a family day or shopping day,” said Animal Control Director Kaye Dickson. “The Saturday before Christmas is usually the same way so we’ve canceled those hours as well.”
