Help us stop capture of wild beluga whales Urge President Putin to stop beluga whales and orcas being taken from the sea by Russian hunters. These whales are taken from their families and sold alive for public display at theme parks around the world. Many are injured or die during the process and their transportation puts them under great stress. The effects on the wild populations are damaging – harming their potential to breed and survive. We've had success! Last month we helped stop 18 of these wild caught belugas (pictured above) being imported from Russia to theme parks in the US.  But these 18 individuals are still languishing in a holding pen in Russia and we fear they may be shipped to facilities in China.  We are calling for their rehabilitation and release and for an end to wild capture in Russia.
