We need your help again...

With your help, we fought and won a battle to stop 18 wild belugas being sent from Russia to theme parks in the US.
But now the Georgia Aquarium is preparing to fight this decision.
These whales were taken from their families in Russian waters between 2006 and 2011 and have been held in a sea pen in Russia ever since.  The Georgia Aquarium applied for permission to import them but thanks to pressure from WDC and other organisations, and an incredible response from the public, the US authorities denied their request.
Despite all the evidence proving how unsuitable whales are for captivity and how devastating captures can be for wild populations, the Georgia Aquarium now plans to fight the decision.
We urgently need your help to stop them.
These intelligent and long-ranging creatures do not belong in tanks.  They do not belong to the US or to Russia.  They belong back in the sea.
Help us put pressure on the Georgia Aquarium.  Make them see sense...

Above:  belugas awaiting their fate in a Russian holding tank.  Not only do we need to stop them being imported into the US, but we need to ensure that they are released back into the wild.
A big 'thank you' to nearly 9,000 of you who signed our petition calling for a ban on whale captures in Russia - we will be delivering your signatures to President Putin in the next few weeks.
